OEM Paint vs. Aftermarket Paint Application

The process of applying the films can require that the film - at any point of the installation - may need to be removed and re-positioned or replaced. There is an industry wide problem with aftermarket paint being peeled or lifted off of the treated body panel in this situation. We can only assure, warrant and support the application of the films on OEM - Factory painted - body panels. If your vehicle has had body repair or paint work done to the affected areas to be treated, you are required to disclose that to the installer or sales person in advance. Although this condition is a low risk, it is a serious problem and we cannot be held responsible. All customers will s

Installation Process

This is a film process, where a thick clear film is cut from a bulk roll by computer to the exact shape of the body panel being treated, the panel is cleaned of any wax or protectants, and the film is applied to the surface. We do not remove any body panels. Installation uses no chemicals or abrasive tools. The solution we use to position the film is a mixture of water and baby shampoo, occasionally a light mix of common rubbing alcohol and water is used to accelerate the adhesion for extreme body contours. This process does not harm or damage the vehicle finish. On occasion some streaking results on adjoining body panels, this is almost always a result of the solution removing wax or detailing solutions. Simply re-applying the beautification solution by you at the next cleaning will clear that up.

Drying time

Your new film will take about 30 days to fully cure 3M Recommends 30 Days Drying time). Until this time your PPF may appear hazy or lumpy, and it may seem to have water bubbles. Do not try to remove any of these imperfections and do not machine detail or scrutinize the films until dry!

3M Paint Protection film may be cleaned with normal cleaning and detailing solutions, including popular brand name waxes, but NOT Carnauba. Do NOT use abrasives or harsh chemicals. We recommend a plastic specific cleaner / wax like Plexus®.

Though we strive for perfection in our installations, due to the nature of the product and the environment, some degree of dust contamination and or minor imperfections are present in most film applications. Pre-existing flaws or scratches and deposits on the paint surface are often noticeable after the film is applied.

The newer the vehicle the fewer the imperfections. In similar comparison, a very clean vehicle will also have less imperfections than a dirty or poorly maintained vehicle. Thoroughly clean your vehicle before your appointment to assure the highest level of cleanliness in our installation. We are paid to apply not to clean, we can't do both !

Film Brands

We only use 3M Brand films. We install only Scotchgard® Paint Protection films. We are the only known local Authorized Dealer / Applicator of the 3M Brand films. If anyone else says they are a 3M Dealer, ask for Proof!
